NETVISION GW5 Board

indie Semiconductor GW5 Series Development Board

The GW5 Board enables rapid prototyping of automotive camera system based on the Camera Video Processor (ISP) indie GW5 series. indie GW5 includes powerful features dedicate to automotive camera system development such as innovative High Dynamic Range (HDR) image processing, lens distortion correction and RAW to YUV conversion. In addition, the board can Capture embedded data of MIPI at the same time as video.

GW5 Board

Since the GW5 Board interface for ISP control is compatible with indie’s evaluation board, ISP setting and FW update from indie’s genuine tools are supported. (FTDI FT4222 module is used as I2C / USB converter.)
As for video input, the GW5 has two MIPI CSI-2 interface. By using with our deserializer boards, the GW5 Board supports video input with automotive SerDes standards such as FPD-Link III, GMSL and GVIF2.

As for video output, the board supports MIPI CSI-2 and parallel interfece, and can output to HDMI (or DisplayPort) and USB by connecting to our monitor board SVM. Since the GW5 has two video streaming slots internally, it is possible to output both of RAW and YUV concurrently.
By doing something like the following configuration example, you can convert the video of RAW camera to YUV and output it to USB and HDMI (or DisplayPort).

Application

■RAW & YUV MIPI Virtual Channel output

The figure below shows a configuration example using MIPI CSI-2 as a video output. The image from the RAW camera is being input to the GW5 Board via Deserializer.

The video output from the GW5 is a MIPI CSI-2 signal that has two virtual channels. One is the RAW video on Virtual Channel 0 and another is the YUV video converted by the GW5 on Virtual Channel 1.

The SVM-06 supports USB (UVC) output for RAW video and HDMI output for YUV video concurrently.
In addition, by using two SVM-06 and MIPI daisy chain connections, it is also possible to USB (UVC) output for both RAW video and YUV video.

■ YUV 16-bit parallel output

The figure below shows a configuration example using 16-bit parallel as video output. The image from the RAW camera is being input to the GW5 Board via Deserializer.

The video output from the GW5 is the YUV converted by the GW5 and is output from the 16-bit parallel bus.
The SVP-01-U can output the input video signal from either DisplayPort or USB (UVC).
